Theo m\u1ed9t kh\u1ea3o c\u1ee9u c\u1ee7a ch\u00ednh ph\u1ee7, qu\u00e1 n\u1eeda s\u1ed1 c\u00f4ng nh\u00e2n (56%) \u0111ang c\u00e2n nh\u1eafc l\u00e0m vi\u1ec7c \u0111\u1ed5i ngh\u1ec1 \u0111\u1ec3 \u0111\u00e1p \u1ee9ng v\u1edbi t\u00ecnh h\u00ecnh kinh t\u1ebf hi\u1ec7n th\u1eddi. Changing careers<\/p>\n

According to a government study, more than half of workers (56%) are considering making career change in response to the current economy situation. The study is also conducted in 25 countries and all have similar results as it reflects a change in attitude of workers in response to the global economy.<\/p>\n

The study finds that for the first time, more people are willing to make career change into something new rather than stay within the same industry. A large number of people who are working in Banking, Finance and Business are returning to school to learn computer and information technology. A business graduate explained: \u201cThe financial crisis few years ago placed several hundred thousand people out of work. Most of them have many years of experience so a recent graduate in Business or Banking has no hope to compete with them. I do not want to be unemployed so I decide to go back to school to learn computer.\u201d The study also finds that in the U.S. number of student enrollments in business is decreasing by 43% but the enrollment in IT is increasing by 38%.<\/p>\n

There is a similar response from workers across Europe and Asia, where more than half of workers are looking to change their career in response to the uncertain economy. A Financial analyst in Germany said: \u201cThe economic crisis in Europe will continue to spread and put more people out of work. Even I have a job but I am not sure that I can keep this job for long so I decide go back to school to take additional training in information technology to be safe in this changing time.\u201d A Chinese Bank Teller complained: \u201cMy degree is in Finance and I hope to work in the Stock Market Exchange but due to the current economic, the only job I can find is a Bank Teller. I did not spend four years in college to be treated like a clerk. Many banks are facing bankruptcy now so I go back to school and learn Information System Management which has better future. It is not easy but it is an investment in this changing time.\u201d<\/p>\n

In comparison, there is a significant difference in the responses of workers who answered that the economy does not have any impact on their career. These are people who work in science and technology area. Most are positive about their future as the need for technology workers is in high demand. College advisors from country to country are\u00a0advising first year college students to study Engineering, Computer Science, or Healthcare rather than Business, Marketing or Finance to avoid being unemployed when they finished their studies. A school advisor said: \u201cThis economic recession already has many first year students changing their mind about their careers. Certainly those who were planning a future in financial services or Business may be looking for new directions and options. It is impossible to predict what the job market will look like in the next four years. Young people entering college this year could graduate into a job market that is still recovering from recession so it is better to stay safe than sorry. Skills that are in high demand in industries will go far in helping graduates avoid unemployment. The best areas are Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology and Healthcare as they are the most-recommended field of study.\u201d<\/p>\n
