NASSCOM nh\u00f3m c\u00f4ng ngh\u1ec7 th\u00f4ng tin (CNTT) c\u1ee7a \u1ea4n \u0110\u1ed9 mu\u1ed1n thay \u0111\u1ed5i thu\u1eadt ng\u1eef “Kho\u00e1n ngo\u00e0i qui tr\u00ecnh doanh nghi\u1ec7p” (BPO) th\u00e0nh \u201cQu\u1ea3n l\u00ed qui tr\u00ecnh doanh nghi\u1ec7p” (BPM). Ch\u1ee7 t\u1ecbch c\u1ee7a NASSCOM c\u00f4ng b\u1ed1 r\u1eb1ng t\u1eeb gi\u1edd tr\u1edf \u0111i, \u1ea4n \u0110\u1ed9 s\u1ebd KH\u00d4NG d\u00f9ng t\u1eeb “kho\u00e1n ngo\u00e0i” trong c\u00e1c h\u1ee3p \u0111\u1ed3ng c\u1ee7a h\u1ecd m\u00e0 s\u1ebd thay th\u1ebf n\u00f3 b\u1eb1ng t\u1eeb “qu\u1ea3n l\u00ed” \u0111i\u1ec1u th\u00edch h\u1ee3p h\u01a1n v\u1edbi kinh doanh hi\u1ec7n th\u1eddi.<\/span><\/p>\n

India’s outsourcing industry<\/p>\n

NASSCOM the India\u2019s Information technology (IT) group wants to change the term \u201cBusiness Process Outsourcing\u201d (BPO) to \u201cBusiness Process Management (BPM). NASSCOM President announced that from now on, India will NOT use the word \u201cOutsourcing\u201d in their contract but will replace it with the word \u201cManagement\u201d which is more appropriate with the current business.<\/p>\n

An executive further explained: \u201cOutsourcing\u201d is no longer a good word. It usually means \u201cCheap\u201d or \u201cLow cost\u201d but today we are no longer cheap or low cost. India IT industry is making over one hundred billion dollars in business per year now and still growing every year. India is the destination of most software development in the world and we have gone from testing and coding to managing the entire software development for customers. We provide high value to customers as we understand their business better, and we want to be a partner, not supplier.\u201d<\/p>\n

India\u2019s IT industry is moving from support to develop solutions with their in-depth capabilities through service delivery excellence. Despite the current global recession, India\u2019s economy is still doing quite well because its strengths is based on the knowledge of its workers. Twenty years ago, it started with the Y2K supports and call center business but overtime it has evolved into a knowledge industry that can do complex works due to its highly skilled workers. Today, most of the testing and coding are outsourced to other lower cost countries and most works in India are focusing on total solution and research.<\/p>\n

However, a Wall Street analyst disagreed: \u201cAs the U.S begins to \u201cInsource\u201d to solve the unemployment problem, any company that \u201coutsource\u201d will be looked at carefully by the public as shifting job away and not helping the economy. To avoid it, people just come up with new term to avoid public scrutiny.
