Today the battles to get the top talent is heating up as hiring is accelerating faster than the number of college graduates available. In fact, there are technology skills shortages in every country which prevent the global economy from expanding. Of course, high demand and low supply also increase the salary offer. This year, starting salaries for computer science graduates fresh out of college in the U.S., without experience, soared to $90,000, while those with some experience can demand up to $150,000 . Students who have skills in new technologies such as Internet of Things, Robotic, Automation, Big data analytics, drones programming can demand $200,000 or even more in this critical time.<\/p>\n
According to several business reports, the fast pace of change in technology is driving the high demand. People who continue to update their skills can ask for a higher salary because lifelong learning is becoming a necessity now. It is about how fast a person can learn new skills to meet the needs of the job market. The pressure to learn quickly at an accelerated pace is felt across all universities. Some schools can change the curriculum fast enough, but many are lacking behind and contribute to the shortage crisis.<\/p>\n
This year, some technology jobs have reached the “critical crisis” such as Big data scientists, cyber security specialists, Cloud computing specialist, mobile app developers, and drones programmers. According to an industry report, many executives believe these new technologies will bring significant change to their businesses in terms of better products and higher profits. Among these skills, the highest demand for big data analytics skills. In fact, that demand is nearly six times higher than the next most high-demand skill, cloud computing.<\/p>\n
In order to get the new talent they need, companies are looking outside the U.S. to fill the gap. Seven in ten companies intend to bring in more people from foreign countries for the talent they need in the coming years assume that they have the right skills.
