Answer: As a computer science student, you will learn to program. This is an essential skill that you must be very good, as it is the foundation that everything will be built on it. If you can code well, you will not have any problem finding a good job in the U.S. because there is a shortage of people with good programming skills. Every industry, from business, banking, finance to manufacturing, transportation, and government are applying information technology, so the demand for computer science graduates is high.<\/p>\n
As a computer science student, you will need to develop problem-solving skills. Whether you are solving a problem for customers or helping others to solve their problems, you need to follow a basic process: Define the problem, generate several solutions, evaluate and select the best solution, and implement the solution to solve the problem. You also need organization skills because you will have to deal with a lot of information and data. If you could sort through all information and data to make the right decisions, it will help you advance faster in your career.<\/p>\n
As you make progress in your career, you will need communication skills which include a presentation and interaction skills. Since English is not your native language, you need to improve your speaking and writing skills too.You need to structure your thoughts and explain it clearly and correctly to others and have the confidence to not afraid of speaking in front of large group.<\/p>\n
All of these soft skills will require time to build, but if you put in the effort, you will do well. By having both technical and soft skills, you will gain more confidence in your ability. You do not need to be perfect but believe that you are good enough to achieve what you want. Confidence will help you overcome obstacles to achieve your career goals.<\/p>\n
