To most computer science and software engineering graduates, getting a job at Google is a dream come true. For the past fifteen years, Google is known in both the business world and the technical industry for having effective managers and very happy employees.<\/p>\n

One of the key factors is Google has a rigorous hiring process as it always hires the best from top universities. Another factor is its management know \u00a0how to get the best out of its employees. However, as the company grows bigger, more issues have come up as the company is no longer a small startup but a giant technology company with over 25,000 software workers. But Google is also a \u201clearning company\u201d and as it learns from mistakes, it documents everything to share so its people do not make the same mistake again. These \u201clearning lessons\u201d are published in a book called \u201cWork Rules\u201d by Laszlo Bock, the company’s senior vice president.<\/p>\n

Last week, Google decided to share more of its \u201clessons learned\u201d to the world by creating a new website called \u201cre:Work\u201d and allowed people to learn from its hiring and managing people. The website consists many advices, how-tos manage projects, and case studies that detail how other successful companies have dealt with difficult-to-solve issues. For example, under the “managers” tab, there is a step-by-step guide on how to apply good management techniques for people just get promoted into management positions. You can learn how Google’s training model for new managers and how it manage thousands of workers effectively<\/p>\n

In the website, there are more than just Google\u2019s lessons, there are lessons from other companies also. For example, how JetBlue, one of U.S successful airlines hire its workers.<\/p>\n
