Answer: Some soft skills can be developed by yourself if you set goals to learn them. You do not need special training or wait until college but you can learn soft-skills even in high school. Having these skills will help you both in college as well as in the workplace. While passing exams to go to college is important for most high school students today but you also need to develop your soft-skills whenever you can because they can help you to handle the challenges in college and later in life.<\/p>\n
There are some soft-skills that you can develop yourself without taking classes. For example, teamwork is the ability to work effectively in teams. A team may have some members that you do not get along well but you must learn to work with them to achieve a common goal. This is one of the most important skills that you will need throughout college as well as in your careers. You must learn to deal with different people, different situations, and adapt to changing circumstances. You must learn how to depend on them as well as on yourself to complete the work.<\/p>\n
Another skill that you could develop is organization skills where you plan the work based on certain priorities. You can use some tools to put things into order so you can manage them according to a specific schedule. College works are much more complex with a lot of distractions than high school so you need certain preparation, and having organization skills will help you to manage your tasks accordingly. Of course you cannot develop organization skills without time management skills as these skills are inter-related. By understand your time that you must spend to study, time to go to class, time you need to rest than you can decide whether or not to participate in other activities. By learning how to balance your time between study and play, you develop certain time management skills by have a clear and organized list of goals and priorities.<\/p>\n
