Theo m\u1ed9t kh\u1ea3o c\u1ee9u c\u00f4ng nghi\u1ec7p, thi\u1ebfu h\u1ee5t hi\u1ec7n th\u1eddi v\u1ec1 c\u00f4ng nh\u00e2n c\u00f4ng ngh\u1ec7 th\u00f4ng tin (CNTT) c\u00f3 th\u1ec3 ti\u1ebfp t\u1ee5c t\u1edbi 2025 v\u00ec nhu c\u1ea7u v\u1ec1 c\u00f4ng nh\u00e2n CNTT v\u1eabn c\u00f2n r\u1ea5t cao nh\u01b0ng cung c\u1ea5p v\u1eabn c\u00f2n th\u1ea5p. Nhu c\u1ea7u h\u00e0ng \u0111\u1ea7u l\u00e0 trong l\u1eadp tr\u00ecnh m\u00e1y t\u00ednh v\u00ec s\u1ed1 ng\u01b0\u1eddi t\u1ed1t nghi\u1ec7p b\u1eb1ng c\u1eed nh\u00e2n trong Khoa h\u1ecdc m\u00e1y t\u00ednh, K\u0129 ngh\u1ec7 ph\u1ea7n m\u1ec1m v\u00e0 Qu\u1ea3n l\u00ed h\u1ec7 th\u00f4ng tin kh\u00f4ng t\u0103ng nhanh nh\u01b0 mong \u0111\u1ee3i. M\u1eb7c d\u1ea7u nhu c\u1ea7u t\u1ed5ng th\u1ec3 v\u1eabn c\u00f2n cao nh\u01b0ng c\u00f3 m\u1ed9t s\u1ed1 k\u0129 n\u0103ng c\u00f3 nhu c\u1ea7u m\u1ea1nh nh\u1ea5t nh\u01b0 Ng\u01b0\u1eddi qu\u1ea3n tr\u1ecb c\u01a1 s\u1edf d\u1eef li\u1ec7u, An ninh t\u00ednh to\u00e1n, h\u1ed7 tr\u1ee3 T\u00ednh to\u00e1n m\u00e2y, v\u00e0 ph\u00e2n t\u00edch Big data. B\u1ea1n c\u00f3 th\u1ec3 th\u1ef1c hi\u1ec7n h\u1ec7 th\u1ed1ng CNTT t\u1ed1t nh\u1ea5t tr\u00ean th\u1ebf gi\u1edbi, nh\u01b0ng n\u1ebfu ng\u01b0\u1eddi doanh nghi\u1ec7p kh\u00f4ng hi\u1ec3u ph\u1ea3i l\u00e0m g\u00ec v\u1edbi ch\u00fang, ch\u00fang l\u00e0 v\u00f4 d\u1ee5ng. The needed skills<\/p>\n

According to an industry study, the current shortage of Information Technology (IT) workers may continue until 2025 as the demand for IT workers remain very high but supply is still low. The top demand is in computer programming as the number of graduates with a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering and Information System Management is not increasing as fast as expected. Although overall demand remains high but there are certain skills that have a strongest demand such as Database administrator, Computing security, Cloud computing supports, and Big data analytics. The study stated that overall job prospects for IT professionals are excellent in the next 10 years with 72% of companies expecting to hire more IT workers.<\/p>\n

However technology skills are not the only thing that companies need, to ensure new workers will be effective, more companies also look at their soft-skills such as the ability to work in team and their communication skill, especially with business people. A manager explains: “I want our business people to understand how IT can help them be more efficient and get their job done, and that can happen only when IT workers can clearly explain how IT can be put to good use. You can implement the best IT systems in the world, but if business people do not understand what to do with them, they are useless. The most important skill is the ability to explain in common language used in business domains, such as marketing, sales and finance, and NOT use IT technical languages that business people do not understand and that is why graduates in Information System Management are more valuable than Computer Science because they have the knowledge of business in addition to technical skills.\u201d<\/p>\n

Today technical skills are NOT enough for career advancing as most companies are looking for people with different mix of skills and experience to promote into management or higher positions. Therefore technical students need to complement their technical skills with certain “soft skills” for potential advancement. Following are some important soft-skills that they need to develop:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Communication Skills: Ability to speak clearly as well as listening carefully. You may also need to learn at least one foreign language such as English.<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Teamwork skills: Ability to work well in teams. Be able to share information, be cooperative and take a leadership role when appropriate.<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Time Management skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and use the time on the job wisely to get things done.<\/p>\n

4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to solve problems when they arise, take responsibility to solve them accordingly and do not leave them for someone else.<\/p>\n

5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Open Mind skills: Ability to accept and learn from criticism and continue to grow as a professional<\/p>\n

6)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Self-Confidence skills: Ability to have courage to do the job with a sense of calm and inspire confidence in others. Ability to work well under pressure.<\/p>\n

7)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Adaptability skills: Ability to adapt to new situation and challenges, willing to accept changes and open to new ideas.<\/p>\n
