That means you must take control of your career and make it happens as you plan. A career is a lifelong process of investing time, efforts, and resources to achieve your goals. A career is continuing process that allows you to adapt to the changing demands.\u00a0No matter what types of job that you do, you always need to evaluate your skills on a yearly basis to determine what you need to improve or change in order for you to keep the job, or advancing to a better one. You need to create a list of all the skills that you have developed throughout your career. Each year, you must review your resume then modify it to reflect your current abilities. By doing that you will not forget details of your achievements and ready when you need to change jobs in the future.<\/p>\n

Even you already have good job, you always need to update your skills by additional training. By knowing your strengths, you also know your weaknesses and you must improve it. Training gives you a sense of accomplishment and control in the direction of your career plan. By managing your career, you can make the right decisions for yourself. Rather than letting things happen to you, it is important to control every aspect of your career by planning, managing, reviewing, updating, and improving.<\/p>\n

You are living in a world that is changing fast due to the impact of technology. Computers and other scientific advancements have changed the way in which you work. Whether you like it or not, the world is changing, the business is changing, the company is changing, and the job requirement is also changing. In some countries the change maybe slow but eventually everything will change. The problem is if a country cannot change fast enough, it will be left behind. If the economy is not adjusting fast enough, many businesses will suffer as they cannot compete. You may see evident in some countries where the numbers of jobs are being eliminated, the numbers of unemployed people are increasing and the economies are in severed crisis. Technology changes are impacting everything, every field, every business and eventually the entire economy, shutting down companies and devastating countries. How well a country is able to adapt to these changes is directly related to how knowledgeable and skills their citizens have. That is why the adapting to changes by continuous learning is critical to the survival of a country, a society, a business and workers. However many people do not see the need to learn new things as long as they still have their jobs. Few of them realize that what they know today maybe obsolete few years from now and without learning new things, they may not be able to keep their job. In this fast changing world, lifelong learning and career management are vital to survive.<\/p>\n
