The boy who creates game for the iPhone<\/p>\n

Today in most U.S newspapers, there is an interesting article about Robert Nay, a 14-year-old boy who create \u201cBubble Ball\u201d, a “Puzzle game” for Apple devices such as iPhone and iPad. The game is based around trying to get a bubble gum into a goal, a really simple game but within few days, it have been downloaded two million times, according to Apple company.<\/p>\n

The most interesting fact is the boy never has any programming training or receives any help from adult. His family has no idea that he can do something like that. His father said: \u201cI cannot tell a mobile phone from a smart phone, they all look the same to me\u201d. No one in his family know how to program and his mother said that she does not even know how to add names and phone number into her mobile phone. Basically the boy learned how to code from a library book, after a friend suggested he try to make an application program for mobile phone.<\/p>\n

During the interview with the local newspaper, the boy said: \u201cIt is so easy, it only took me few days to learn how to code a mobile application. When my friend challenged me to create a game for the iPhone, I went to the library and check out a book on computer game programming\u201d. He did not know about making money so he uploaded the game to Apple \u2018s website so other children can download and play, without have to pay for it. However many adults also find the game interesting so they play it too. Eventually more people heard about the game and within days, the number of download reach million then two millions and Apple company took notice of this game.<\/p>\n

The boy said: \u201cI think it’s pretty interesting because I never thought my game would do that well. When I saw that it was number one for the free apps on the iPhone and iPad, I was astonished.” Of course, the boy also learned that if he sell the game just for a dollar, he could be a millionaire by now so he plans to make more games, but his next game is “a secret”.<\/p>\n

According to Apple company, there are over two hundred thousand applications for the iPhone and iPad. There are several hundred people who has made over one million dollars selling their games on Apple\u2019s website where each download costs between one to five dollars. As the usage of smart phone and tablet like iPad continue to increase, more people will write more applications, more games and some will become millionaire. If Robert succeed in his next game and if he sell them for just one dollar, he could become the youngest millionaire in the mobile game industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
