I heard that CMU has provided this program to the SEGVN too, is it correct?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Answer: Yes, CMU has provided the Information System Management (ISM) training program to SEGVN (Van Lang and DuyTanUniversity). I have written several articles about this topic on the SEGVN website. Today we live in a society that is increasingly dependent upon information technology. Companies recognize that their information are high-value assets of strategic significance and they rely upon rapid access and evaluation of accurate information for their survival. Successful businesses cannot maintain their advantage without competent leadership from their IT organizations.\u00a0The application of information technology is becoming more important to every company as it changes the way organizations do business. Competition and cooperation in a globalized world with dynamic environment has created a need for people who can lead, work together in teams, and apply information technology to meet company\u2019s business needs.<\/p>\n<p>However, both computer science and software engineering training are focusing more on the technical aspect but NOT the management aspect of information technology. That is why a third training program such as the Management of Information System (MIS) or Information System Management (ISM) is needed to develops leaders with a strong balance of management, technology, and leadership skills needed to handle complex globally integrated systems.<\/p>\n<p>The MIS\/ISM program serves students who want to know how to apply information technology to solve problems in companies. It provides students with a foundation in technology so they can understand the role of information systems in business environment. It prepares students to manage medium and large IT project such as the integration of information systems and business processes, manage IT projects, manage IT services, and manage information systems.
