Neither Bill Gates nor Steve Jobs graduated from college but both are very rich and there are many unemployed graduates who waste a lot of money for their schools. My question is: Is college education worth it?\u201d<\/p>\n

Answer: You are confused a college education to being rich. People like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg quit school to manage their companies, NOT because they think college education is worthless. With globalization, a college education is more valuable than ever. According to the latest report: In 2010, more than 85% of the job openings in developed countries required a college degree. This is 45% increase compare to the year 2000. What does that means? It means that low skills job are being outsourced and people without a college education will have very difficult time to find works.<\/p>\n

Since you ask, I would say that college education is the best investment and it is really worth it. Of course, there is no guarantee\u00a0 that college graduates will be rich like Bill Gates but I am sure they will be educated persons. For people who doubt the value of education, my question is between being an educated person and an ignorant person, what would be your choice? If you are parents, what would you advise your children? Do NOT go to school? Do NOT get a college education? No parents would deny their children an education, if they can afford it. What do you advice a high school student? Do NOT go to college and be Bill Gates? How could anyone be Bill Gates without any knowledge of technology? You should NOT look at a few rich people and generalize that college is not worth it. Instead you should look at millions college graduates who are contributing to the society, to their countries, and to humanity.<\/p>\n

Money, assets, property and other material things can come and go but knowledge always stay with you and no one can take it away from you. Obtaining a college degree is NOT about making money or getting rich but it gives you a foundation on which you can build a career. It teaches you to solve more of life\u2019s problems. It gives you future reference points for discussing art, entertainment, politics, and history. College also teaches you how to learn. Things that you study in college, you may forget overtime but you never forget how do you learn them. This learning habit also lead you to a lifelong learning which enrich your life and make life more meaningful to you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
