When software customer build a house<\/p>\n

A student forward me a humorous letter from a \u201ccustomer\u201d who want to build a house:<\/p>\n

Dear Mr. Architect:<\/p>\n

Please design a house for me. I am not sure what I need but I want it soon. I want you to start working on the design of my house as soon as possible. My requirements are simple: The house should have between 2 to 15 bedrooms because I do not know whether just myself and my wife will live there or maybe my relatives also want to move in. Please make sure the plans have such many rooms. If my relatives do not move in then we can delete those rooms. If more people want to move in then we can add more bedrooms when needed.<\/p>\n

I am not sure about the style of the house yet. I want to have a \u201cclassic style\u201d but my wife want a \u201cmodern style\u201d so please architect the house in both styles, in case we change our mind later. I know that my mother in law like a \u201ccountry style\u201d house so maybe you can architect that too. Sometime my mother in law does influence my wife. If two of them make decision together then we can start building whatever they want.<\/p>\n

When you complete the architect plan of the house, please send it to me so I can make final decision of what I want. Also, bring me the cost for each rooms, each floor so that I can select what I want. At this time, the house can be one story or five stories high because I have not make up my mind yet. However, I do not want to spend a lot of money on this house because if it is too expensive then I may not want to build it. I already have a house that I am living now. If the new house is not better than my current house then I will not want it. As an architect, you must make sure that the new house is of higher quality than my old house.<\/p>\n

As you design my house, please understand that I want to keep the costs as low as possible. It means that you have to include all costs from every brick, every pieces of woods, cements, and steel rods so I can check them. Be prepared to explain every cost in detail. Please make sure all costs and labor are including in the plan of the house as I do not want to pay any extra.<\/p>\n

To ensure that you are building the correct house for my entire family, make sure that you contact each of my relatives too. This include my mother-in-law since she often has strong feelings about how we live. Make sure that you follow my \u00a0requirements and make the right decision as I may change the design that you make since I am the customer.<\/p>\n

At this time, please do not bother me with details because I am busy. Your job is to architect the house and if I like it, you can build it. I still not sure about choosing the color of the house. I know that my wife likes yellow but I prefer blue. We can discuss about the color after you complete the plan. Your priority is to design a detailed specifications. Once I approve these plans, I would expect the house to be build within a week since I want to have a big party at the end of the month and I like to have it in the new house.<\/p>\n

While you are designing this house, you may know that later I may want to sell it to someone else. Therefore the house should have appeal to a many potential buyers. Please make sure that people who may want to buy the house like this house too. I do not want my house to be less appeal than other houses in the same street. Please look at several houses in my neighborhood and make sure that my house will be better than them.<\/p>\n

Please design an architect plan as soon as possible but do not spend too much time on it since I am not sure about whether I really want to build the house. By the way, my wife may disagree with many of the instructions that I have given you in this letter. It is your\u00a0 responsibility as the architect to resolve these differences.
