Answer: Project Management is a business principle that is being used in many industries and companies. To apply project manager technique in your company, you could start with few basics such as time management, teamwork collaboration, documentation and communication.<\/p>\n

You can encourage your project team to document their time each day. It will help them to see how their time is being spent; how much time does it take to complete certain tasks. This will also help you to estimate time allocations for future tasks and projects. You can promote more collaboration and teamwork between team members. Do not allow them to work in isolation but have them work in small groups where they can learn from each others. In most factories, works are allocated based on skills and experiences. Training is informal and often transferred from experienced workers to less experienced workers. What is simple and easy to one person may be confusing and difficult to others. By having people work together and observe each others, they can learn faster and exchange ideas among themselves.<\/p>\n

You should start to create and document a company-wide process based on best practices. Having most experienced workers explains what they do and how they do it to you so you can document them rather than have the knowledge kept in somebody\u2019s head. It is important to establish a formal project document with clear objectives, goals, measurements and monitoring process before work begins. The key of project management is to ensure everyone in the project is clear on their roles, responsibilities and what to do in the project so their works can be more consistent. Once a project is started, you need to meet weekly with customers and team members to share information on the progress and resolve any issue. The benefits of these meetings will help workers understand how the project is progressing, whether it meets schedule or not and whether are there any unresolved issues.<\/p>\n

Even at its basic level, project management can seem overwhelming, that is because it is the first time you are doing it in a new way not the same way as the company operates. As long as you explain it clearly to everybody about the benefits of project management such as better way to manage and make things clear, objectively, and measurable with well defined roles, responsibilities. I think people will like it.<\/p>\n
