Mobile apps<\/p>\n

A Computer Science student wrote to me: \u201cWhere do I learn about developing mobile apps? Do I need to go to special school that teach mobile apps development? Please advice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Answer: If you already know how to develop software, you can easily develop mobile apps. You do not need to go to special school since there are many tutorials on the Internet that teach mobile apps development. Please see my previous blogs about mobile apps.<\/p>\n

There are several types of mobile platform to choose from but you should start with one and master it before move on to others. You can develop mobile apps for your own or to share with friends. Of course, you can sell it and make money too. Please refer to my previous blogs for details on selling mobile apps. Basically you need to explain what your app can do and where it will fit to the app stores such as iTunes App Store for Apple or Android App Store for Google.<\/p>\n

To develop for Apple, you must register to become a developer at the iPhone App Developer’s Center. (You must pay a small fee). You also must own an iPhone and Mac computer running OSX or higher to register. You can start to develop your app in the Developer’s Center then test your app on your iPhone to make sure it runs well or correct any technical issues. When finish, you can submit your app to Apple through the Developer’s Center. Apple will review to make sure it works properly before approve it for sale in Apple store.
