Answer: Unfortunately, you are getting caught between the demands of a manager and a task you believe to be unfair. This is not an uncommon situation in any working place. With the facts you wrote in your email, you should be praised for seeing the situation as unfair and injustice, and your desire to work with the tester for improvement. Since I do not know what mistake the tester made or the reasons for firing him. Perhaps there is more to the story than what you are seeing. If your manager insists that you fire the employee based only on the reason you have consider as a minor mistake, you could try to persuade him to reconsider based upon principles of fairness. You may wait few days to let the situation to calm down before talk to your manager. Maybe there is something else that you do not know and by discussion with your manager, you may learn more. I understand sometime, you are asked to do the \u201cbad thing\u201d against your conscience and it is not pleasant. If you have to do that, try to be as professional as much as possible. You may help that person to find another job by write a nice letter of recommendation.
