Women’s Educational achievement<\/p>\n

According to a report about educational achievement in the U.S. women have been doing better in school than men, and women were ahead of men in completing college. Today 61% of college graduates are women and 68% of students in honor classes are also women.<\/p>\n

The authors of the report found that college men were often distracted by many things, mostly by internet and computer games during the time they were in college. Several schools reported that male college students spend too much time in computer games and not enough time to study. A high number of male student\u2019s failure was attributing to addiction to computer games. Few years ago, the problem was mostly parties or drinking but now it is computer games that take away their times from studying.<\/p>\n

A school counselor complained: \u201cComputer game is no longer an entertainment but becoming an addiction, like illegal drug. It is spreading rapidly throughout many colleges.\u201d A school Psychologist added: \u201cMany students play computer games without any problem but it seemed that male students who are addicted to computer games are people that do not have social skills; they do not have friends, especially girl friends, so they often find \u201cvirtual friends\u201d to play on-line computer games to help them escape loneliness.\u201d<\/p>\n

The report found that college women often work harder, follow rules better, study more, read more, communicate better with professors and often study in teams as contrast to college men who often study alone. Women have better soft-skills and much more careful in decision making. These characters give women more advantage in finding job, especially jobs in technology industry than men. In the industry, women often move up faster. On the average, a woman gets promoted in 3 years when it may take a man about 3.5 to 4 years. The report also warned that most labor jobs that often hire men were outsourced to low cost countries or being replaced by robots so it would be difficult to men without a college degree to find good paying job.<\/p>\n

However, the author also noticed that for some strange reasons, fewer women are studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) which pay more and has critical shortage of workers. Most college women are still pursuing the \u201ctraditional degrees\u201d such as education, business, arts or music. The author concluded: \u201cIf more women study STEM, they will make more money, have stable careers, and eventually could make a different in society as they are more compassion and caring than men.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
